Simply thrives to be an exceptional conveyancer for our Estate Agent partners and clients as well as an exceptional employer for our colleagues. Our people are at the heart of everything we do and that is why we want to invest heavily in their success. We are therefore delighted to launch The Academy; a unique programme to develop the conveyancers of the future. Today we spoke to Academy Lawyer, Mita Begum about beginning her Academy journey and her exciting future as a Conveyancer.
How long have you worked at Simply Conveyancing?
I have been with Simply for 2 years now.
Tell us about your history at Simply, where did you start?
My first role at Simply was a Legal Assistant. During the pandemic I was promoted to a Senior Legal Assistant and during Lockdown 3, I applied for The Academy to become Property Lawyer.
What made you want to apply for The Academy?
At first I was quite nervous to take the jump from Legal Assistant to Property Lawyer. I knew I wanted to progress in my career, but I did not have the confidence. When The Academy was introduced to me, I knew I had to apply for my personal and professional development. What really appealed to me is the fact that we will be provided with the extra support and training to become a Property Lawyer and that we are gaining a qualification whilst managing our own caseload.
What are you most looking forward to about The Academy?
I am looking forward to becoming independent on a greater scale and challenging myself with targets and tasks to complete with set timescales. Absorbing new knowledge from training and implementing them in my day to day work.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
Right now I am going to focus on becoming the best property lawyer I can be. In 5 years, I see myself having deeper experience and knowledge in property law, and hopefully I can use my skills and expertise to become a senior member of the team.
