Simply Conveyancing Announces New Corporate Charity 10 Nov 2020
Claire Goodridge, HR Manager
Creating a thriving and efficient work environment isn’t always about the benefits that colleagues receive, it’s also about what we give back. At Simply Conveyancing, we know how important it is to support our community and that is why we established Simply Fundraising in 2019.
Over the last 12 months, Simply has raised over £1700 for Teenage Cancer Trust – the UK’s only charity to support young people who have cancer. Bringing all three offices together, we completed cycling challenges as well as good old fashioned themed and dress up days as well as bake sales, lucky dips and raffles.
Lockdown didn’t stop us either – over the summer, we took part in our very own ice bucket challenge, raising just over £600. Even our kids, affectionately named “The Mini Simply’s”, got involved!
Voting recently took place to choose our next Simply Fundraising charity and our colleagues selected Alzheimer’s Society. Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity who campaign for change, fund research to find a cure and support people living with dementia today. Currently someone develops Alzheimer’s every three seconds and there is no cure. Our fundraising money will go towards research as well as vital support to those who are living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Dementia is now the UK’s biggest killer, effecting one in three people.
Our first major fundraising activity is a fairly simple, but effective one.
We have recently launched our Colleague Survey to gain vital insights in to the happiness and wellbeing of our colleagues at work. We are very keen for our colleagues to take part, so much so, that we are donating £10 for every survey completed.
Each year, our fundraising target is £1500 – with over 150 colleagues at Simply, we have the potential to smash our target after our first fundraising activity!
We really are delighted to be supporting such an incredible charity this year – the support Alzheimer’s Society gives to individuals who are living with Alzheimer’s and dementia is truly humbling. We have lots of exciting fundraising ideas planned for this coming year, both in the office and for our colleagues working from home – so keep your eyes peeled!
